About
Welcome to Taqueria Guanajuato Myrtle Beach, your gateway to an authentic Mexican culinary experience nestled in the heart of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Located at 3901 Dick Pond Rd, this vibrant eatery is renowned for its commitment to delivering genuine flavors that celebrate the rich traditions of Mexican cuisine.
As you step inside, you’ll be greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere, although be prepared as the seating can be limited, making it an ideal spot for intimate gatherings rather than large parties. Despite the cozy space, Taqueria Guanajuato has garnered rave reviews for both its delicious food and attentive service.
The menu is a feast for the senses, featuring a wide array of mouthwatering tacos that reflect the true essence of Mexican street food. Choices range from the succulent Buche Taco with tender pork belly to the heartwarming Carnitas Taco and the flavorful Barbacoa Taco made from marinated steak, all at an astonishing price of $3.75 each. For those who dare to try something unique, options like the Lengua Taco (tongue) and Borrego Taco (lamb) promise to deliver an unforgettable experience.
Fans of the menu rave about the freshness of the food, particularly highlighting the homemade salsa that accompanies the complimentary chips. One visitor, Danielle Otto, perfectly encapsulated the allure of Taqueria Guanajuato by stating, "Food was real authentic!! Delicious." The emphasis on authenticity sets this restaurant apart, as it steers clear of adapting dishes for American tastes, ensuring that every bite transports you closer to Mexico.
While savoring your meal, don't overlook the enticing desserts. The churros are a must-try—crispy, sugary, and often described as “amazing” by satisfied customers. As one reviewer excitedly stated, “You have to have the churros.”
In addition, the restaurant offers a kids menu for the little ones, making it a family-friendly option. With dishes like the Kids Cheese Quesadilla and Kids Chicken Quesadilla, parents can rest assured that everyone will find something to enjoy.
For beverage options, while some flavors may varied, the homemade juices are still a delightful accompaniment to your meal. Despite mixed reviews on the mango juice, the overall experience promises satisfaction.
In conclusion, Taqueria Guanajuato Myrtle Beach is more than just a dining spot; it is a celebration of authentic Mexican flavors, exceptional service, and vibrant community spirit. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, make sure to add this gem to your culinary itinerary. Your taste buds will thank you!
“ The food was delicious and the employees were super nice. It was our first time here so we were a little lost. I had the empanadas and churros. The chicken empanada with only chews was delicious! My husband had a burrito and a pupusa. The burritos are gigantic so I dont recommend getting anything else besides that. The mango juice was alright. I didnt like it as much but it was the best homemade juice they had. I fully recommend this place. Not much space I side so it might not be good for groups bigger than 8 people. Oh and you have to have the. Churros. They were amazing. ”
“ We have the same name of the restaurant back in saluda sc. Loved the food here its very good. ”
“ The food is so good, and the salsa they bring to the table with the chips is fresh and homemade. Highly recommend. The tacos we ordered we specified no cilantro, typically they do cone with cilantro so keep that in mind when viewing the photo. ”
“ Food was real authentic!! Delicious. Try the churros!!!! We will be back! Great prices ”
“ The best authentic Mexican food weve tried in the Myrtle Beach area. We visit MB 2 to 3 times a year and we always plan at least one visit to Tagueria Guanajuato. Its not Mexican food thats tuned for American tastes, its authentic Mexican based flavors and dishes. The service is very good but can get overwhelmed during peak dinning hours as its a smaller restaurant and normally has 1 to 2 servers at most during our visits. Weve visited primarily during weekends and theyve had live performances the last few visits. This weekend they had a gentleman and a teenage boy playing acoustic guitar and singing and they were fantastic. ”
“ We always eat here. Love love the food and love the people. Love the burrito carnita, tacos de pastor etc. We love the empanadas de queso, comes with a side of lettuce, tomato and queso fresco. My favorite is the salsa roja , really spicy mmm. ”
“ Finally an authentic and friendly, inexpensive real life Taqueria in Myrtle Beach! I only speak English and they treated me very kind and was able to get my order correct, unlike most places in town. Food is tasty, made quick and fresh. Very impressed. ”
“ I had midafternoon lunch at Taqueria Guanajuato, and the dining room was still crowded and happy. Its a strip mall hole in the wall Mexican joint in Socastee, just inland from Surfside Beach. Its as legit as you can get, north of the border. In photos are tacos of cachete, al pastor with pineapple over the rotisserie, and tripa, and the thick blue corn masa oval on the right is a precolombian item called tlacoyo new to me. It was topped with nopales and cotija, and delicious. I washed it all down with a giant agua fresca of course. The staff are friendly ask for the mas picante salsas, but some taco meats were unavailable on my visit and the lamb is Sunday only,. The taco al pastor was great, the beef cheek taco was out of this world. ”
